KAZ_LAB 2025 – Video Mapping Contest
KAZ_LAB 2025 – Video Mapping Contest is an international video mapping competition that merges digital art with the memory of place and a creative interpretation of the cultural heritage of Kraków’s Kazimierz district. We invite artists from around the world to create short video mapping works to be displayed on the façade of a former synagogue – now the iconic HEVRE Club.
The contest is organized by the Faculty of Art at the University of National Education Commission in Kraków as part of the 34th Jewish Culture Festival.
THEME & CREATIVE DIRECTION
We invite artists to draw creative inspiration from the history of Kraków’s Kazimierz district – a place of unique character and rich Jewish heritage. We especially welcome works that thoughtfully and originally explore themes of memory, identity, and cultural legacy, capturing the layered spirit of this remarkable urban space.
DATE & VENUE
The final projection will take place on Thursday, June 26th, 2025, on the façade of HEVRE Club, located at Beera Meiselsa 18, Kraków, Poland.

Time duration: 1– 5 minutes
Resolution: 2800px × 1200px
Frame rate: 30 fps
Bitrate: min. 20 Mbps
Format: H.264 (MP4) with sound (bitrate min. 192 kbps)
File compatible with the Matrix
File name: [NameSurname_ProjectTitle].mp4
Video must not feature the title or the creator’s name at the start, the end, or any other part.
AWARDS & DISTINCTIONS
1st Prize – 6,000 PLN
2nd Prize – 3,000 PLN
3rd Prize – 2,000 PLN
The jury may also grant additional financial or material distinctions and may adjust the prize amounts at its discretion.
HOW TO APPLY
The competition is open and free of charge to artists and collectives from around the world.
To participate, please read the official guidelines and send a single email containing the following required documents:
1. APPLICATION FORM – completed online
2. PARTICIPANT’S DECLARATION – scanned and signed (or digitally signed PDF) via email
3. GDPR INFORMATION CLAUSE – scanned and signed (or digitally signed PDF) via email
4. YOUR VIDEO MAPPING WORK – link to an online folder or file hosting platform; the video file must meet the technical requirements and match the projection matrix provided in the attachment.
5. PORTFOLIO – as a link or PDF file (max. 15 MB)

TRAVEL & ACCOMMODATION
Finalists are warmly encouraged to attend the event in person; however, all travel and accommodation costs must be covered by participants themselves.
